Intro
Here's a nice list of things you can do instead of self-injuring. The first part contains "Safe Alternatives", the second part contains "Possibly Dangerous Alternatives", and the third part contains "Fake SI Alternatives" (SFAs), it also contains minor forms of self-injury that are relatively harmless (that's an oxymoron isn't it?).

Safe Alternatives are things like taking a walk or riding your bike. They don't deal with dangerous objects or include triggering activities (well hopefully not) for most self-injury forms (i.e cutting, burning, etc. etc.)

Possibly Dangerous Alternatives are a list of things that may be dangerous to do depending on your form of SI and may cause you to try a new method (i.e Baking, wood working, etc.)

Fake SI Alternatives are things that involve causing similar sights or sensations that self-injuring would cause. Such as drawing on yourself with a red marker or dying your hair red and watching the dye go down the drain. The minor forms of self-injury in this include snapping rubber bands, holding ice, and warm candle wax dripping.

Please note that every activity will fit it's category exactly, and probably 97% of the activities listed here can turn into some form of self-injury if pushed far enough.
